Pixability’s Inclusive Media Initiative is our mission to support diverse creators and communities on YouTube.
Welcome to Pride Month! We are excited to introduce you to one of our fabulous YouTube Creators from the Inclusive Media Initiative, Jadin Turner! Check out his YouTube channel here, in addition to Instagram.
Theresa: How will you celebrate Pride Month with your audience/followers this month?
Jadin: I will be attending a Pride festival this month, taking my followers on a little trip through what Pride looks like. There will be pictures on Instagram, mini vlogs on TikTok & a full YouTube video of the day itself. Showcasing more than the event itself, stay tuned for the fashion drops & talks I have ready for you guys!
Theresa: Tell us about yourself and how you got started as a content creator.
Jadin: I always loved watching TV and seeing people film reality TV. After discovering what media was at a young age, I was always intrigued by the camera. The camera itself is a powerful tool and it can be used for so much more than the natural eye can see.
Theresa: Tell us a little bit about your various social media profiles – what types of content do you create and who is your main audience?
Jadin: Instagram is my main platform for sharing model work and content with brands regarding fashion and accessories. TikTok showcases behind the scenes. YouTube gets personal with longer format videos, like my personal tv show for insiders on fashion, life, media, business, education and more!
Theresa: Why did you decide to join Pixability’s IMI?
Jadin: I love the opportunity to work with a brand that represents community. If you think about it, the world is our community, as we all have one earth and one life. So being able to tie in with someone to help support each other is very beneficial when working with anyone. I trust Pixability’s mission.
Theresa: Tell us a bit about your experience creating content for the LGBTQIA+ community.
Jadin: My content tailors around being me, discovering myself and my place within the community, and how I am a part of it… is shared throughout my life. Being a part of the LGBTQIA+ community is to be a part of a group of individuals who have learned to love themselves inside and out no matter what. In general, all of my content focuses on positivity, growth, and loving yourself which means doing things you love that express you! I express myself through my modeling by having very different styles and variations of clothing, makeup looks and more. I am my own stylist and have full creative control over looks for shoots, so shoots are always styled to me being and feeling like my authentic self.
Theresa: With the looming TikTok ban, I am curious about what you think about short-form content and moving that to other platforms in the future.
Jadin: As of now, I started my media journey outside of TikTok so I am not too worried about it. It will not affect me personally but just deny more individuals of the free content I provide. Which brings me to think maybe all my short form content may have to move to another platform in the future.
Theresa: What advice do you have for up-and-coming LGBTQIA+ creators?
Jadin: Never change yourself for a brand. If someone is truly willing and passionate to create a partnership and grow a business relationship with you, then they will accept you for you!
