Inclusive Media Initiative Creator Q&A: Miss Ibarra
December 18, 2024Pixability’s Inclusive Media Initiative is our mission to support diverse creators and communities on YouTube.
YouTube has historically been a fabulous place to get gift ideas, general inspiration and DIY content. We had the pleasure of interviewing @MissIbarrasWorldArt, one of our fabulous Inclusive Media Initiative Creators who was formerly an elementary school teacher but who now teaches art to all ages on her YouTube Channel. She deploys a bilingual content strategy across her content both long and short form.
Theresa: How has your channel evolved since you began?
Miss Ibarra: I have better photography skills and I show my face more.
Theresa: Where do you find inspiration for your holiday videos? Are there specific traditions, family stories, or cultural elements that influence your ideas?
Miss Ibarra: How to Renovate a Chateau, Amber Scholl, Homeworthy
Theresa: How do you approach planning holiday content in both English and Spanish?
Miss Ibarra: My videos are always in both languages.
Theresa: What unique challenges or benefits have you experienced while creating bilingual content?
Miss Ibarra: Sometimes the words in Spanish and vocabulary are different from country to country.
Theresa: Do you find a distinct difference between your audiences for the English language content and the Spanish language content?
Miss Ibarra: The Spanish audience tends to enjoy more religious content.
Theresa: What feedback have you received from your audience about your bilingual holiday content?
Miss Ibarra: My highest-rated video was during Christmas about Rudolf the red-nosed reindeer and brought in 55 thousand views.
Theresa: Are there any specific goals or projects you’re excited about for the holiday season?
Miss Ibarra: I am presently in Costa Rica to film and see how they celebrate here.
Theresa: Do you have any advice for up-and-coming bilingual creators?
Miss Ibarra: Never give up! And show your face! It creates a relationship with your audience.
