Meet the Pixers is our blog series where we introduce you to the talented folks who make our company a success. Today, we’re featuring Brandon Tate, our Channel Management Associate.
Tell us a little bit about your background:
Before I started at Pixability, I worked as a substitute teacher that was moved into a full term role during the height of the pandemic. I previously was enrolled in graduate school in London, UK and had plans to live out there after graduating until the pandemic shook the world up. But after returning back to the states, a passion for content creation bloomed. I have been live streaming on Twitch for almost a year and a half now and have just expanded to creating longer-form content on YouTube and truly have been loving the process.
What is the last thing you watched on YouTube?
I actually just started creating reaction YouTube videos, so the last video I watched was a video suggested for me to react to. The video title was “Tinder Experiment: 18 Yr Old Woman Tries Being A Man!!!” It was a viral video from about 2 years ago where a woman went undercover as a man on Tinder to see the experiences men go through on the dating app.
What is the best career advice you have ever received?
The best career advice that I have received also can apply to life overall. I was told in order for you to reach whatever success looks like for you, everything has to be congruent. Things have to work with each other and you have to create and establish healthy spaces from a mental, emotional and physical standpoint.
What advice would you give to someone starting out in their career?
Be flexible! Everyday will be different, new tasks, new opportunities and always ways to be better than you were yesterday. Keep expanding on what you know and dive deeper into depths you have no idea about. Get used to being uncomfortable and at the same time enjoy the moment.
